About Stay Private Online
We built Stay Private Online to do one thing well: help people choose the right VPN without wading through hype, fake reviews, and pages that are really just disguised ads.
What we do
There are dozens of VPNs and hundreds of sites "ranking" them — most padded with affiliate links and invented testimonials. We took the opposite approach. We focus on the handful of VPNs actually worth considering, match each to the single job it does best, and tell you the trade-offs plainly, including the ones the providers would rather you didn't notice.
Who's behind it
Stay Private Online is published by [YOUR NAME OR BUSINESS NAME], based in Alberta, Canada. [Add one or two honest sentences about your background and why you care about online privacy — e.g. a background in IT, networking, or security. Specific, real experience is what builds trust here.]
How we evaluate VPNs
Our rankings come from criteria that actually change a buyer's decision:
- Independent test results for speed and reliability.
- Published security audits and the strength of each provider's no-logs policy.
- Jurisdiction — what country's laws govern the provider.
- Real-world value — pricing across the full term, device limits, and what happens at renewal.
- Refund terms, so you can test a service with minimal risk.
We weight these toward the things people regret getting wrong — usually the renewal price and the logging policy.
How we stay independent
We earn commissions when readers sign up through our links, and that funds the site. But commissions never decide our rankings — the order would be identical without any affiliate program. We don't publish fabricated reviews or ratings. You can read the full breakdown in our Affiliate Disclosure.
